Percussia performs a food-themed concert, including “Essential Foods” by Klezmer great Frank London, “Disciples of Gouda” by Mark Mellits, and “Duke Orsino’s Table” by Byron Adams. After a 30-minutes break, this free concert will be followed by Kew Garden’s annual “Victoria Tea” event–registration separate (tickets required).

This concert will feature “Percuta”, a brand new work exploring the exciting rhythms of the tango by the Argentine bassists Pedro Giraudo. Percussia will also perform “Harmon Ick”, a quirky and adventurous composition by Ridgewood composer Skip LaPlante, which investigates the acoustic properties of overtone using spinning tubes and puts Percussia’s instruments to work using non-traditional techniques.
