Percussia Performs at Queens Library
Percussia, a contemporary chamber music ensemble
with percussion as its driving force, will premier a new work
and perform three additional pieces in a concert at the Queens
Library's Langston Hughes branch, November 10, 2007.

Percussia Receives Funding from Queens Council on the Arts
Percussia is grateful to have been funded once again by the
Queens Council on the Arts. With the help of QCA decentralization
funds originating from NYSCA and the NYC Department of Cultural
Affairs, Percussia will be performing three concerts of African-influenced
music throughout Queens in November of 2006. A grant by JP
Morgan Chase will fund the development of a new web site and
the production of publicity materials.
Percussia to Appear at Cornell Percussion Event
In
February, 2007, Percussia will be appearing at gala-style
event hosted by the Cornell University called "New Directions
in Percussion", which will highlight current trends in percussive
chamber music. The event will include a masterclass for Cornell
students, as well as a short residency in Binghamton, NY.
Percussia Embarks on Commissioning Project
Percussia has begun soliciting newly commissioned works by composers
such as Evan Ziporyn, Chen Yi, Marga Richter, Bob Becker and
Dennis Tobenski. The world premieres of these new works will
begin taking place in fall of 2007.
